Spring Hikes Near Bishop

Spring is here and so are all of the trails opening up as the snow starts to melt. We always get excited at this time of the year and want to share in what hikes we like to do in the spring.

Rock Creek to Long Lake Trail

About: This hike features a lake and is good for all skill levels. Dogs are allowed on this trail as well.
Distance: 4.5 mile out and back
Traffic: Heavy

Methusalah National Recreation Loop Trail

About: If you haven’t seen the wildflowers yet, this is a great trail to see them. Dogs are allowed on this trail but must be kept on a leash.
Distance: 3.7 mile loop
Traffic: Light

Mono Pass from Mosquito Flat Trailhead

About: This trail near Bishop features a lake and is usually used for hiking, walking, and birding. Dogs are allowed to use this trail.
Distance: 8.7 mile out and back
Traffic: Moderate

Lower Rock Creek Canyon Trail

About: This is another trail that features the beautiful wildflowers. Dogs and horses are also allowed to use this trail.
Distance: 8.8 mile out and back
Traffic: Heavy

Buttermilk Road

About: Buttermilk Road is located in the Buttermilks and has a lot of climbing along the trail. Dogs are allowed on this trail.
Distance: 14.8 mile point to point
Traffic: Moderate

Druid Stones

About: The Druid Stones trails has some awesome views of the mountains that you don’t want to miss out on. This trail is rated as difficult.
Distance: 5.1 mile loop
Traffic: Moderate

Honeymoon Lake Trail

About: Honeymoon Lake Trail features a lake and is rated as difficult. It is great for day hikes or backpacking.
Distance: 11.7 mile out and back
Traffic: Moderate
